August 10, 2018 – Day 284 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – You never know – Today’s photo is pretty much a failed attempt, even though it’s kind of interesting to look at! I used an app called ProCamera which has a low light image stacking feature where it takes up to 64 images and combines them into a single file and I decided I’d try taking a picture of the Milky Way last night with it. This is the result! Faint outline of the trees below, what should be Mars and a lot of noise, or perhaps some of it is actually stars. Perhaps it’ll work better in brighter, low light situations. Just testing the limits of my iPhone 7 Plus! You never really know if it’ll do something unless you give it a try, in my opinion!

August 9, 2018 – Day 283 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Take a seat – I have been eyeing the design and color of the seats around the tables at the First United Bank Plaza here in downtown Madisonville, Ky for some time. The white gravel along with the silver tables and chairs lend themselves so much to a black and white photograph that I picked them for my photo today.

August 8, 2018 – Day 282 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Our Official 1st Grader – This afternoon after his first day of 1st grade I took my nephew Jayden to our local Dairy Queen for a treat! Here he’s enjoying his banana split wearing his “I’m an Official 1st Grader” hat he made in his class.

August 7, 2018 – Day 281 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Rain Makers – This afternoon I mentioned to Elaina, Damion and Xavier that Indians used to beat on drums to make the rain come and so they started drumming on this board I had on the cat’s house and guess what? It actually started raining!! Sometimes things just come together as a magical moment and it was for the three of them!

August 6, 2018 – Day 280 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Alien Robot Mask – Today my nephew Damion popped into my home office to show me the “Alien Robot Mask” he made! This shot doesn’t really show all the mask, but I love how his single eye shows through one of mask holes! Sometimes, the best shots aren’t always the ones you plan for! Go with the flow when shooting your pictures!

August 5, 2018 – Day 279 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Creativity – My nephew Damion has a great imagination and is always creating something he’s thought up! This morning he created a “Magical musical instrument” and demonstrated how it works for my camera! Listen to the kids in your life when they talk about things they imagine! There’s always a picture lurking there somewhere!

August 4, 2018 – Day 278 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Happy Birthday! – This evening family gathered at my niece Tracy and nephew Tim’s house to celebrate my great-great nephew Jeremiah’s 2nd Birthday! Here everyone is trying to help him figure out to blow out his birthday candle! Family gatherings can provide a wealth of great pictures! Be ready!

August 3, 2018 – Day 277 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Oink! – Had lunch today with a couple friends at one of our local BBQ establishments, Dave’s Sticky Pig, and captured this little guy with glasses next to the register.

August 1, 2018 – Day 275 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – A New Ride! – Damion proudly displays the new “Truck” he built out of cardboard boxes in my living room this afternoon.

July 31, 2018 – Day 274 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Damion and Tabatha – Damion was excited this morning when Tabatha decided to sit with him in my chair. She doesn’t normally do that as she’s more his sister Elaina’s cat!

July 30, 2018 – Day 273 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Growing Up – My niece Elaina lost her first “baby” tooth today and another one is hanging on by a thread, as she opens wide to show her mom. Milestones are always a good subject when photographing kids or adults either one.

July 29, 2018 – Day 272 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Bigger than life – My nephew Jordan hams it up for the camera this morning as we were waiting for his older siblings and cousins to get out of Worship and Wonder at church. When photographing the kids in your life, let them ham it up for the camera sometimes! It usually always makes for a good picture!

July 27, 2018 – Day 270 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Shadows – Today I participated in our local photography club’s photowalk around Madisonville, Ky and this is my favorite black and white shot from the event. I like the play of the shadows of the stool I found in a back alley.

July 26, 2018 – Day 269 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Dinosaur Spin Game – While waiting for his T-Ball game to begin, Damion plays what he referred to as the Dinosaur Spin game as his step-mom Amy spins her umbrella and brother Greyson as he tosses a toy dinosaur onto the umbrella, trying to hit the white panel. The lower light of the evening and the slower shutter speed of the iPhone gave just enough blur to make the picture more interesting!

July 25, 2018 – Day 268 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Off we go! – Today while I was out chasing trains in Mount Vernon, Indiana I drove by this little guy and had to stop to take a picture. After 24 years in the Air Force, anytime I see what looks like a small plane I do so, plus I guess it fits into my “Machine” series. At first, I thought it was a BBQ Grill, but it wasn’t. My guess is that it was built to pull in parade, but I couldn’t see anyway for someone to get into it. Perhaps it’s for “Little Green Men?”

July 5, 2018 – Day 248 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Tie Plates – While out taking pictures of trains today I spotted this pile of railroad tie plates at Depaw, Indiana and liked the design! Don’t pass up the simple things as they can make for interesting pictures! Just keep your eyes and mind open to what’s around you!

July 4, 2018 – Day 247 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Elaina’s Birthday – Elaina, her brother Damon, cousin Jordan and her mom Ashley all show excitement as they watch fireworks at the end of Elaina’s 5th birthday celebration at her grandma and grandpa’s house. Picture is a bit noisy, but still turned out well for the moment! The picture is lit from the fireworks, not flash.

July 3, 2018 – Day 246 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – A new nose – After finishing her chocolate milk yesterday at lunch Elaina decided that the bottle would become her new nose! Of course, I had to get a photo!! She’s so silly sometimes!
