April 15, 2017 – It’s the late hours of the night as Savatrans (SVTX) 5 lights up the rails, as the train stains, during it’s pull up the Vectran lead with a load of coal for the Sitran Dock, at Abee, Indiana.
Aprils 19, 2017 – CSXT 5344 leads an autorack train south on the CE&D Subdivision at Haubstadt, Indiana.
April 19, 2017 – Despite it being a hot muggy day, with way too many gnats buzzing around, we found a parade of north bounds making their way up CSX’s CE&D subdivision across the Patoka River box bridge at Patoka, Indiana. Here CSXT 3247 heads up CSX Q592-18 (Nashville, TN Chicago, IL) as it was train number four in a line of the ones we caught. Traffic has been affected due to CSX MOW do major upgrades along the line with their current maintenance blitz which from what I’m told is scheduled to continue through next week. A big shout out to fellow railfan Ryan Scott for showing me this location!
March 25, 2017 – Empty coal train CSX E234 heads through St. James Curve at St. James, Indiana as it makes its way north on the CE&D Subdivision.
March 25, 2017 – CSX empty coal train E234 passes the depot at Princeton, Indiana as it heads north on CSX’s CE&D Subdivision. The station was built in 1875 and has been beautifully restored. Once housing the C&EI and L&N railways, it was the lifeline of commerce and transportation for the county. Passenger service was discontinued in the late 1960s. The Princeton Train Depot is now home to the Gibson County Visitors Center and features a railway museum with a restored train caboose.
February 23, 2017 – CSX empty coal train E312-18 heads through Ft. Branch, Indiana as CSXT 143 leads it north on the CE&D Subdivision.
February 16, 2017 – A loaded CSX Coal train pulls away from the siding at the Alliance Siding in Princeton, Indiana as it heads south on CSX CE&D Subdivision with CSXT 377 and UP 6347 at power.
February 16, 2017 – CSX Q294, with Norfolk Southern 7312 leading, two Union Pacific and one Canadian Pacific unit trailing, meet a loaded coal train in the siding at Alliance at Princeton, Indiana at 294 heads north on CSX’s CE&D Subdivision.
February 16, 2017 – CSX’s hot intermodal, Q028-15, makes its way north at the south end of King siding against the setting sun at Princeton, Indiana on the CE&D Subdivision.
