I just love the look of this photo of a bench at the city park here in Madisonville, Ky. The early morning light combined with the shadows, frozen lake and clouds just all came together in this photo. It again was really cold, but after I got my shot I couldn’t resist sitting on the bench for awhile to capture with my ears something his image couldn’t.
Sitting there I could hear the sounds of geese and ducks off to the left out of the frame making their quiet sounds as they were roosting on the the ice, but there was another sound that had caught my attention. It was the sound of the warmer water from the lake as it reacted on the ice on the surface. I’d not heard this before and it was almost like a musical instrument as it was coming from all over the lake, almost like an orchestra when added to the other sounds of nature.
There are some things you just can’t capture in a picture and you should take time after or before shooting to take your scene in.
