A few shots from a tour I got with some friends of the new Casky inspection yard at Hopkinsville, Ky the day before they opened to trains. Still a lot of work left to do, but it’s open and serviced it’s first trains on June 26, 2015 by the fine folks working there.

A view of the inside of the car barn.
Wheels everywhere!
Contractors work on installing a derail just outside the car barn. Building to the left is the yard office.
Looking south from the car bar toward the fueling storage area at John Rivers Road. Trains will be fueled by tanker trucks.

Looking back south at the crossing at John Rivers Road and the signal bridge and the track coming into the yard from Pembroke, Ky that leads to the four inspection tracks.
Contractors do some final ballast and track work on the car shop tracks.
With corn fields all along one side of the yard crews will see an abundance of deer.
