I tried to get my portrait today of my niece Elaina and she just wasn’t in the mood, so this is what I ended up with! I still love it as it is so her!! Don’t worry about not being conventional in your portrait work as it will allow you to have more storytelling images sometimes! Think outside the box!

I’ve been intrigued by pictures I’ve seen using this technique and have decided to learn the ins and outs of doing it and see if I can apply it to my train photography! The first portrait is of my great-great nephew Jeremiah today after church as we were eating lunch. I can tell after working on getting a photo of this 2-year-old that using the portrait mode on kids is going to be a bit more of a challenge!
