July 29, 2018 – Day 272 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Bigger than life – My nephew Jordan hams it up for the camera this morning as we were waiting for his older siblings and cousins to get out of Worship and Wonder at church. When photographing the kids in your life, let them ham it up for the camera sometimes! It usually always makes for a good picture!

July 26, 2018 – Day 269 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Dinosaur Spin Game – While waiting for his T-Ball game to begin, Damion plays what he referred to as the Dinosaur Spin game as his step-mom Amy spins her umbrella and brother Greyson as he tosses a toy dinosaur onto the umbrella, trying to hit the white panel. The lower light of the evening and the slower shutter speed of the iPhone gave just enough blur to make the picture more interesting!

July 25, 2018 – Day 268 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Off we go! – Today while I was out chasing trains in Mount Vernon, Indiana I drove by this little guy and had to stop to take a picture. After 24 years in the Air Force, anytime I see what looks like a small plane I do so, plus I guess it fits into my “Machine” series. At first, I thought it was a BBQ Grill, but it wasn’t. My guess is that it was built to pull in parade, but I couldn’t see anyway for someone to get into it. Perhaps it’s for “Little Green Men?”

October 19, 2015 – Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railway 488 and 484 sit outside the engine house at Chama, New Mexico after their last day of scheduled passenger service for the year. If you’ve never been here, put it on your bucket list! One of the most railfan friendly steam operations I’ve ever been to.
According to Wikipeda: The Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroad (C&TS) is a 3 ft (914 mm) narrow-gauge heritage railroad running for 64 miles (103 km) between Antonito, Colorado and Chama, New Mexico, United States. The railroad gets its name from two geographical features along the route, the 10,015 ft (3,053 m) high Cumbres Pass and Toltec Gorge. July 4, 2018 – Day 247 – iPhone 7 Plus Daily B/W Photo Challenge – Elaina’s Birthday – Elaina, her brother Damon, cousin Jordan and her mom Ashley all show excitement as they watch fireworks at the end of Elaina’s 5th birthday celebration at her grandma and grandpa’s house. Picture is a bit noisy, but still turned out well for the moment! The picture is lit from the fireworks, not flash.
July 5, 2018 – After a couple hours of working in the Norfolk Southern yard at Princeton, Indiana the conductor and engineer of I24 leave NS Heritage Unit 1068, The Erie, in front of the yard office after turning it on the wye. June 6, 2018 – Indiana Southern Railroad 3385 leads an empty coal train south across the NS/IS diamond at Oakland City, Indiana with 3372 in trail, as it heads for the load out at Somerville Central Mine.
According to Wikipedia: The Indiana Southern Railroad (reporting mark ISRR) is a short line or Class III railroad operating in the United States state of Indiana. It began operations in 1992 as a RailTex property, and was acquired by RailAmerica in 2000. RailAmerica was itself acquired by Genesee & Wyoming in December 2012.
Indiana Southern Railroad operates 176 miles of track from Indianapolis to Evansville. From Mars Hill (a neighborhood on the southwest side of Indianapolis) southwest through Martinsville and Spencer to Bee Hunter in Greene County, the ISRR runs on tracks that once made up the majority of the former Indianapolis & Vincennes Branch of the Pennsylvania Railroad. State Route 67 parallels the ISRR along much of this section. From Bee Hunter to Elnora, the ISRR has trackage rights over the Indiana Rail Road. ISRR tracks resume from Elnora through Petersburg before terminating in Evansville, IN along the former New York Central’s Evansville & Indianapolis Branch.
The railroad’s traffic comes mainly from coal and grain products, including corn and soybeans. The ISRR hauled around 70,000 carloads in 2008. It also is supplying coal to the Edwardsport power plant since 2012.
